Investment Review day 48 of 50: What do I invest in?

Investment Review day 48 of 50: What do I invest in?

In a rapidly evolving world, identifying the forces set to shape our future can be a winning investment strategy. Megatrends are large-scale, transformative trends with the potential to redefine industries and societies across decades. By investing in companies aligned with those trends, I’ve sought to position myself ahead of the curve.

Today I track around a dozen megatrends, and the majority of my investments are tied to one or more of these. Here are some, I’ll cover a few more tomorrow:

Cybersecurity: in an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment state-sponsored actors and independent hacking groups are becoming more sophisticated, posing a heightened risk of cyberwarfare and espionage to all organisations

Technology: cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and augmented reality tools will continue to disrupt and reshape how we work and play

Healthcare: medtech and biotech and being spurred by an increasingly elderly population and an obesity epidemic

Sustainability: clean energy, cultured meat, electric and autonomous vehicles, and innovative solutions addressing climate change

I’m putting my holdings under the microscope. Over the next 50 days I’ll break down my whole investment portfolio. Wins, losses, and the ‘why’ behind it all. And on day 50 I’m going to share my full portfolio so you can see how my strategies played out in the real world over the last twenty years and what we can all learn together. Follow along for the journey! #StockAnalysis #50daychallenge
